Man who randomly raped woman at bus stop sentenced to 16-plus years in prison
CINCINNATI —
A rapist who was caught on security camera video at the moment of attack was sentenced Thursday to prison in a Hamilton County court. Keesean Savage, 18, was sentenced to between 16 and 20 years in prison.
"Most people in Cincinnati don't believe people like this exist but they do," said Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters.
The security video was released after Savage was sentenced. The video shows Savage approaching the woman in the Ludlow Avenue parking garage. Prosecutors said the woman was a stranger to Savage who was waiting on a bus.
Savage told the woman he had stumbled on a car that had hit his car and he wanted to take a picture of it but didn't have a camera.
Deters said Savage asked the woman to take a picture. As the woman took the picture, she was unaware Savage had moved behind her. Savage suddenly grabbed the woman by the neck and forced her to an alcove of the garage. That's where investigators said the woman was raped.
"That could be your sister. That could be your wife. That could be anybody," Deters said.
Deters said Savage had been convicted in Miami County but was sent to a halfway house in Hamilton County.
It's not the first conviction for Savage.
Court documents show he has a long record of violence including fights and attacks while incarcerated. Among the list of attacks carried out by Savage is the rape of a developmentally disabled man.
