'This is violence beyond belief': Two men indicted for kidnapping and shooting man 9 times
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A grand jury indicted two men felonious assault and other charges for allegedly kidnapping a man, demanding $5,000 and shooting him nine times when he couldn't deliver. If convicted of all charged Ryan Stoll faces more than 50 years in prison and Ricardo Meadows faces more than 25 years in prison.
According to investigators Stoll, Meadows, a teenager and an unidentified person kidnapped the victim at about 3 p.m. on August 11. When he couldn't come up with the cash, the suspects drove around for hours with him in the trunk.
At some point, the victim was let out and beaten and shot six times.
According to Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters' office, the victim ran away and crossed four lanes of Ronald Reagan Highway before Stoll and Meadows caught up to him and shot him three more times in the head.
The victim was left for dead.
Twelve hours after his ordeal began, the victim made his way to a Walmart half a mile away to get help.
He was treated at UC Medical VCenter and later released.
“If this were a movie, everybody would say that this is too far-fetched to seem believable," said Deters. "This is violence beyond belief. It is a miracle that the victim survived.”
Stoll and Meadows also face aggravated robbery and kidnapping charges. Stoll faces additional gun charges.
They are both locked up on $500,000 bond.
